October 16th: Paul Lamont takes us on a cruising adventure in South India. There is a large lake in the south of India and a thriving marine culture in the area. We will explore how the residents of this area have embraced the water to assist them in their daily activities.
October 23rd: ON ZOOM ONLY - Tom Garner returns to continue his research on the Welland Canal, this time focusing on Beaver Dams – The Lost Creek. Since retiring Tom Garner has worked on the Welland Canals and Waters Project. He commented on the website: “If you ride your bike around the eastern Niagara Peninsula, around the Welland Canal, you see things that make you think "Hmmmmm". The Welland Canals and Waters Project records my amateur investigation into the current (Fourth) and historical (Second and Third) Welland Canals, and the nearby waters!”
October 30th: ON ZOOM ONLY - TONY ROBINSON AND THE TIME TEAM bring us The Mystery Of The Shetland Viking Ship Burial. Time Team chronicle their crew's trek to one of the outermost Shetland Islands, Fetlar, in an attempt to reveal the truth behind an ancient local myth. A cliff-top mound has long been known as the Giant's Grave. But what does it conceal? And could it be connected with some Viking pottery found in a nearby garden? What the team discovers could be one of their most legendary finds.
November 6th: Katrin Faridani will join us to share her research dubbed “Interconnected” – a visual exploration of the Toronto wastewater system, its connection to our drinking water, and Lake Ontario. She examines the consequences of urbanization and the solutions for mitigating its negative effects for better water management in the Greater Toronto Area. Her pictures are fantastic!
November 13h: ON ZOOM ONLY - Mystery of the Great Mary Rose : Documentary on the Mysterious Sinking of the Mary Rose The Ghosts of the Mary Rose: Research into the skeletons on the Mary Rose as told by Colm McEwan, diver. The excavation took place in the 1980s. This video takes a look at who might have been responsible for the sinking of Henry VIII’s warship. The Mary Rose was an English warship commissioned during Henry VIII’s reign that often served as the flagship of the fleet. It was built in Portsmouth, England, between 1509 and 1511 and served in the Royal Navy until it was sunk in 1545. The wreck was raised in 1982 and later put on display.

Highlights include Haida village sites with the UNESCO World Heritage site, SGand Gwaay (Ninstints) where ancient poles still stand. Also there are remote beaches, ancient rainforests, whales and lots of other wildlife.
January 22nd: Cruising the Best of Georgian Bay Georgian Bay is well known as a cruiser’s paradise for good reason. Much of Georgian Bay remains as wild and pristine as it was when Samuel de Champlain became the first European to set eyes on it in 1615. Join veteran cruiser DAVE SPENCER as he guides us up the eastern shore of Georgian Bay and through the remote anchorages of Northern Georgian Bay. Dave’s seminar focuses mainly on anchoring out and is packed with insights, tips and pictures to inform and inspire both new and experienced boaters looking to enjoy this beautiful cruising area.

In A History of Hanlan's Point, Ron will look at the many identities Hanlan's Point has taken over its years, among them sandbar, military station, cottage resort, sports field, amusement park, and airport.
FEBRUARY 5TH: TVO Docs – An Original – All Too Clear Series: Muddy the Waters | Episode 2 | All Too Clear: Beneath the Surface of the Great Lakes | TVO Original Episode 2 follows the growing movement of people trying to figure out how to control quagga mussels in the Great Lakes, with varying degrees of success. The “father” of this movement is University of Wisconsin Milwaukee professor, Harvey Bootsma. His most ambitious project is an imposing metal device known as the “mussel masher,” which is towed behind a boat, scouring the lake bottom, to spectacular effect underwater. Husband-and-wife team, Steve and Marie-Claude, are attempting to genetically engineer a “Judas” mussel, with the power to transmit a kind of cancer throughout an entire population of mussels.
FEBRUARY 12th: ON ZOOM ONLY … GEORGE HUME brings us the History of the Eddystone Light, the world's first open ocean lighthouse. It was completed in 1699.
FEBRUARY 19TH: PHOEBE WANG, is the author of Relative to Wind: On Sailing, Craft & Community. Her book demystifies sailing and the process of learning to sail. She provided encouragement to those without experience and her perspective paves the way for much-needed diversity and accessibility in the sport.

MARCH 5TH: MIKE LEIGH brings us Kids and Classics Boatshops Museum, a maritime museum that is based on a learning-by-doing campus. It is a year-round campus with programming for many objectives, including working with Youth-at-Risk, family boatbuilding, maritime career studies and boating regattas.
MARCH 12TH: ON ZOOM ONLY … Before the Vikings // Evolution of the Viking Longship #1 (10,000 BC-750 AD) So this video was originally going to cover the entire Viking Age, up until around 1150. It would have been ridiculously long, so I will do a part two, charting the years 750-1150. This video is part of Operation Odysseus – a mass collaboration of history YouTubers on naval history.

MARCH 26TH: TVO Docs – An Original – All Too Clear Series: A Silver Lining | Episode 3 | All Too Clear: Beneath the Surface of the Great Lakes | TVO Original Episode 3 explores how some fish are adapting to the mussels, and asks the question: “Is there an upside to the mussel invasion?” The decline in overall fish numbers has created space for the restoration of cisco, the “forgotten heart” of the Great Lakes ecosystem, and we witness the early success of this recovery effort. Returning to lake whitefish, we follow an ambitious project to restore the long-lost “river-run” whitefish. If baby fish can no longer survive in the Great Lakes, maybe they can find refuge in the rivers that flow into them.
APRIL 2ND: RON JENKINS is a long time NYC member who is a board member of Waterfront for All, a group focused on preserving and enhancing public use of the Toronto waterfront. In An Update on the Status of Billy Bishop Airport, Ron will discuss the current state of proposals for the airport's future, and discuss what might or not happen there in the coming years.
